Xiaomi launches yet another juggernaut - Mi 4i
Fast growing Chinese manufacturer launched yet another competitor in the ever-growing market-the Mi with a price tag of 12,999. The phone was launched at a global launch event in New Delhi recently specifically aiming the Indian mobile market. ’s Hugo Barra described the phone to have been specifically designed from scratch keeping in mind the Indian consumers. He even spun the name as ‘Mi for India’.
The design language of the Xiaomi Mi is close enough to 2 with a polycarbonate plastic unibody design complete with a non-removable back panel. The phone is just 7.8mm thick making it easier to be held and used with only one hand. The features a 5-inch IPS display, a feature that is not readily available in other similar priced popular smartphones. The screen has a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch and comes with a viewing angle of 178 degrees.
The Mi is the first phone to have what they call the ‘Sunlight Display’. This feature enhances the screen contrast depending upon the ambient brightness and thus makes the screen legible even under direct sunlight. The phone boasts a 13-megapixel rear snapper with an f/2.o aperture and a great sunlight performance.
The camera user interface offers three shooting modes-normal, and Live . On the front, a 5-megapixel camera is the best for addicts. The phone is supported by a 3, battery and runs on second-gen Qualcomm 615 processor with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory.
