A video game is a type of electronic game which needs interaction of human being and a user interface to create feedback that are visual on a video device. The word video refers to a type of display device which is able to generate two or even three-dimensional images.
The system on which a video game is played is known as platform. Platform needed for a video game can vary from large computers to small devices that can be handled by hand. Some examples of platform can be personal computers, video game consoles and arcade games which were also specialised video games and have declined in use over the years. The input device or a game controller needed to play video games can vary as the platform does. It can be a mouse, keyboard, games, joystick or a touch screen mobile phone.

As of now, by the year 2015 total generated sales of video games annually all over the world was about 74 billion USD which also makes it the third largest segment after broadcast and cable TV in the US entertainment market.
