4.1 Versions submitted today with the fixes!

OK- so we are very aware of the bugs/errors with the apps in the store. We are happy to tell you that after more than a week of full time work, we are all set. In 4.1, we have fixed the following:

Custom food creation is fixed
Some of you have reported hanging when downloading the new updates- that has been fixed
Database maintenance has been looked at again and tweaked to keep your data safe on your device
Few minor changes

We know that many of you have support Healthy U for a long time and just want to say thank you for all of your patience and support.

Due to the recent problems with our latest update, we have focused our app development on better ways to protect our users. We will soon be adding the ability for our users to back-up their entire app wirelessly and have the option to restore wirelessly if the app or data is lost. This make Carb Tracker, Carb Tracker Pro, and Calorie Tracker Pro very safe and well protected.

In addition, we will be managing the database wirelessly, allowing our users to download current versions providing much better data and additions.

Lastly, a new database structure is almost complete and will be pushed out to our users. This will allow more intuitive searching to make the foods you want to add simpler and more efficient.

Please remember that ALL of these upgrades will be provided for FREE. That is what you get when you support Healthy U Technologies- a company dedicated to providing the very best at all costs. Despite the recent issues, please know that we are working hard to make our products second to none.

Latest updates with Healthy U Apps

So many of you have been emailing lately about the status of Carb Tracker, Carb Tracker Pro, and Calorie Tracker Pro. When we recognized there was a major bug in all three apps after our latest update, we had to take the apps down from the store to prevent more spreading until the problem could be identified and fixed.

24 hours later, our principal programmer identified the problem and it was fixed. We spent 7 full days testing the app in every environment possible in an effort to provide you the best possible functioning app. Thank you all for your kind words and patience. It is in Apple’s review process at this time and will be released as 4.0 for all versions.

Many of you have asked about data loss and information loss. Just restore your back-up and you are fine. If you were not aware, iTunes provides quick and easy back-up each time you plug in your device and sync. Like any other computer, if you have a bug or loss, you have to restore your previous working copy. If you have been backing-up your device, simply restore the previous version of your app and be up and running.

When I update, will I lose my data?

This is the same question many of you are asking, so let’s talk about it. Our previous versions of Carb Tracker and Carb Tracker Pro (not Calorie Tracker Pro) had an issue with the database of foods. This has been fixed and it well documented.

The ONLY way you will lose your information through an update to our latest and greatest is if you are running an older version of your app. If you have not kept up with the updates, the new one will cause the same old problem. However, if you have a current version- the upgrade process will be seamless from here on out.

Many of you on our mailing list understand that we have been working day and night to improve our app. We have had some set backs, but are pleased to inform you all today that testing is over! Before we released the newest versions of Carb Tracker and Carb Tracker Pro, we had to make sure that the bugs were fixed and that the data entered on your device would be preserved 100%. It has been fixed!!!!

If you did not get our mailer, here is the issue. Healthy U Technologies has worked in collaboration with multiple developers in our efforts to bring the user the best app on the market. In the development process of Carb Tracker and Carb Tracker Pro, the list of foods got out of sync from one version to another in our database structure. As soon as we were made aware of this issue, our development began to identify and rectify the issue. I am proud to say that our team has worked tirelessly to solve the issue.

Please know that we make every effort to fully test Carb Tracker and Carb Tracker Pro prior to release, but many times limitations by Apple prevent us from picking up on the smallest of details. We know that the latest issues/bug has caused many of you to lose data that you spent time logging in. We offer our sincere apologizes to all of you that this has affected.

The efforts that our development team takes is in direct response to suggestions and recommendations by people just like you. As you know, we have implemented most recommendations in our new Carb Tracker Pro. Both this new app and the original Carb Tracker have undergone some speed improvements so that finding foods is almost instant. In a future update, we are concentrating on making the food find more intuitive and more exact.

We just wanted you all to know that we are DEVELOPERS, not sales people. We intend on continuing the development process so that this app works for us all the way it should. Thank you all for your continued support.

Version 1.03 sent to Apple (and more)

Version 1.03 has been sent to Apple for review and release. As soon as it is available, we will provide more information on its release. In addition Carb Tracker Pro is set for release to Apple later this month…more details to come.

V 1.0.3- new look, new features

Our new programmers have been working hard to fulfill the requests of our users. We have several items in the update coming up. A list of the most significant items are noted below:

A new skin. Yes, Carb Tracker will take on a slightly different look. We like it and we are sure that you will too!
Decimal point. Ever want to add a fraction of a carb, calorie, fat gram, or even your weight? Well now you can. We have added a decimal point feature as you all have requested.
Searching is easier. The search feature is now enhanced so that it is even easier to find what you are looking for. Since the database is so large, often times you have to scroll through a lot of items to get what you are looking for. No more! Now what you type is typically what you get at the top. Much more intuitive.
Added meals. Ever have a snack? Of course you do. Now we have a place for it. In fact, we have a couple of places for it.
There are a few more, but we will wait to show you on release date!

Version 1.02 Upgrade Information

Version 1.02 is now available for download. Please read the following information prior to downloading the update. PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD this update if you are satisfied with the functioning of the app as is. This version fixes a problem with the main database interface, and now allows for future database upgrades. By downloading, however, you will lose your custom information that you have put in the app. This update is not required if you are happy with the app as is, so only proceed if you wish to have the current version. All future upgrades will preserve user information with this new database interface.

This update includes:

Improved database
Updated nutritional information, like Atkins products and other restaurants
Improved Stability and Functionality
Updater fixed. Future updates will not wipe out custom data

We are working hard on making some excellent improvements. As a sneak peak, version 1.03 will allow decimal/fraction input for custom foods and information. We will also have several updates to the user interface. Lastly, the database has already been updated again and will be released in the V1.03. You will never lose your custom information again with this and all subsequent updates.
