Coming soon- a new feature set for our users!!!

Due to the recent problems with our latest update, we have focused our app development on better ways to protect our users.  We will soon be adding the ability for our users to back-up their entire app wirelessly and have the option to restore wirelessly if the app or data is lost.  This make Carb Tracker, Carb Tracker Pro, and Calorie Tracker Pro very safe and well protected.

In addition, we will be managing the database wirelessly, allowing our users to download current versions providing much better data and additions.

Lastly, a new database structure is almost complete and will be pushed out to our users.  This will allow more intuitive searching to make the foods you want to add simpler and more efficient.

Please remember that ALL of these upgrades will be provided for FREE.  That is what you get when you support Healthy U Technologies- a company dedicated to providing the very best at all costs.  Despite the recent issues, please know that we are working hard to make our products second to none.

I just purchased the ap & get error messages when I try to save new foods.

That was one of the main reasons I wanted the ap, so I’m pretty disappointed so far.

Can this be fixed or could I get a refund?

The previous version had several bugs that were fixed. This new version has the bug fixes, along with several new features (like weight tracking by locking/unlocking the padlock). However, the fix that we thought was complete (create new food) somehow still has an error to it. Our programmer has rectified this last night and we are pushing the fix to Apple. You will get this fix in the form of an update as soon as they make it available (7-10 days).

I have not seen an update yet. I just checked at 08:15 CDT on 5/4. Do you push it out or do I have to go look for it??

Where are you located? I live in Texas and have never heard of most of the resteraunts, stores, etc in your db.

i have yet to figure out the logic behind how you db works. Trying to find something simple is impossible. Try looking for a “banana”.

When I create a meal, I give it a name then add foods. When I try to save it, the name is no longer there and I have reenter it.

  4. Aimee says:

I downloaded the update today and now all I have when I tap the app is a pretty new picture and logo. I tap the screen and nothing happens. I’m very frustrated because it worked fine this morning before I did the update! Can I go back to the old version?

  5. healthyu says:

Aimee, in the current version, the app is backed up by iTunes. Like any computer, if you don’t have this backed up and an error occurs, you lose your data. While I know that doesn’t help you at this time, I would suggest that you plug your device into your iTunes and back-up daily. If you did do that, you can simply restore your device from iTunes back to your last back up and everything will be fine. Then you can re-download the update. Some people have reported what you are referring to, but it is isolated and likely has occurred from downloading the large file and having some sort of network or WiFi interruption. Regards.

John, updates are pushed out by Apple. When programmers submit updates, we wait for Apple to test and approve and push to the current owners of the app. So you will be notified with a notification circle next to the App Store icon. We are located in the United States John. As for our database logic, this is proprietary. We are working hard to make the logic simpler- but are limited by certain restrictions by Apple. We have some great solutions that we are going to implement after some of the current bugs are patched up. It all takes time- and for your investment of $3, we are continuing to work on this app non-stop, full-time. The bug you are referring to for creating a meal is known and being fixed now. One solution is to add items to a meal (like lunch) and then click the plate icon to the left that will appear and then just name and save. This works fine in the current state. Thanks for your concerns and questions. Regards.

I updated my carb tracker and lost all data for my favotie foods? Anyway to retrieve it?

  8. Lee says:

I updated and now when I tap the app I get a pretty new picture for about two minutes then Carb Tracker closes with no explaination – very frustrating. Do you have a fix?

  9. healthyu says:

The only way to retrieve it is if you back up your phone on iTunes. If so, just use the restore feature and you will be back and running. In addition, we have added more measures to prevent this from happening in our latest updates 4.1: http://healthyutechnologies.com/2010/05/4-1-versions-submitted-today-with-the-fixes/
